Not to be punny, I had a captive audience when I gave my “Letters From Einstein” keynote to juveniles serving a prison sentence at Williamson County Juvenile Justice Center.

When the Juvenile Center approached me to do this I was touched. Sometimes we give our presentations to powerful CEOs, or sales managers growing their businesses, or associations at their annual events tying our message to their themes.

On this day, all I wanted to accomplish was sharing a message about how to handle obstacles with hope, humor, and dignity. I left these young men with an equation – NOT as complex as Einstein’s – but a formula to overcome their struggles.

This experience is why I do what I do.
