Our neighborhood Italian restaurant, Aboca, did not overcome the insurmountable odds of the pandemic.
Why was this place popular & what does this have to do with you?
It was not about the food or décor. And it wasn’t even about their BYOB and BYOS (bring your own scotch) policy. OK… maybe a little! For one dollar/person you could bring your wine and our group broadened that concept to include a spot of scotch. And we are a value-driven bunch.
The Scotch Pack
For eight years Aboca became the place for the current and past presidents of our National Speakers Association – North Texas Chapter to convene. The Scotch Pack evolved over time. The current president decided when/if we should meet and set the agenda.
Attendance was not mandatory, but everyone showed up. Why?
- We created a warm environment built around trust.
- It was all about conversation, relationships, networking, mentoring and fun.
- We’d noodle on whatever the issues were. With extra marinara and parm.
Your Aboca
As a leader –
- Who do you turn to for advice?
- What protocol do you have in place to ensure confidentiality?
- Can you create a group to nurture fellow CEO leadership & communication growth for you and others?
