7 Super Tiny Annoying Things You Do That Say A Lot About Your Presence

by | Nov 4, 2024 | 6 comments

It’s the little things that count…

🙄 Swaying – when you talk to friends/colleagues or on stage.

😬 Reacting to every phone ping – while you’re in a meeting / dinner / any event.

🙄 Putting your hands in your hair – retying a pony tail for the 7th time, or putting your hair behind your ears for the 9th time, or rubbing the top of your head with both hands smoothing down your already smoothed down hair.

🙄 Rocking on your feet doing a subtle heal to toe maneuver.

😵‍💫 Using the Illy Family Words too often – including “actually”, “literally”, “honestly” and “basically”.

😱 Stringing sentences together without taking a breath – versus using the Power of the Pause. By pausing you create more attention to what you want others to remember.

🤯 Standing / Sitting with bad posture – try to walk, stand and sit with your back straight with good eye contact. This one is hard to do! Blame our screen lives. We live crunched over. Please try to stand / sit tall to show presence.

➜ Full disclosure… I am guilty of some of these super tiny annoying things too.

✅  The key is to figure out what you’re doing and try to make super tiny strides.
