Conversation yesterday with a new client ➜
Me: “Imagine you’re the ship and your audience is the harbor. If the ship misses the harbor it’s rarely the harbor’s fault. You need to understand your audience’s point-of-view to be able to meet their needs.”
Client: “Karen, you’re reminding me of five questions to ask to make sure you get audience buy-in. I didn’t create this list, but feel free to share.”
Me: “These are great! I’m going to blog about them!”
5 questions to ask to gain more business
1️⃣ What’s the problem your client is having? ► Find it.
2️⃣ What’s the solution? ► Know how to solve their issue.
3️⃣ What system can I offer for them to follow to solve the problem? ► Know this and share it.
4️⃣ Do you have the credibility? ► Your audience needs to know that you’ve earned the right to be at their table via your credentials and experience. And there is a way to brag without bragging. I call these “credibility sprinkles” that you can toss in.
5️⃣ Is this a trusted relationship? ► It’s all about communicating trust. People do business with people they know, like and trust. When you create relationship capital you increase your financial capital.
